Proquest's New Interface

Proquest, a company that produces numerous library databases, including the Wall Street Journal and the New York Times 1851 - 2007, began to introduce a new searching interface in the spring of 2011.  While an updated interface allows for increased functionality that is often valuable to users, this update still has some issues that have not been resolved. 

Having merged with Cambridge Scientific Abstracts (CSA), in 2007, Proquest decided to move all CSA databases, including Sociological Abstracts, to this new platform as well.

The most common issue that occurs are random errors where the page will not load.  Often, these issues can be resolved by removing the library's proxy server from the URL. As this fix will only work from on campus, this guide provides copies of the links to the new interface without the proxy for on-campus users, and the proxied version of the links to the old interface for off campus users.
