Persistent URLs (PURLs) -- How to Create Them: ACM

Locating the PURL

  • In ACM Digital Library, there are two options for permanent links -- one for the article's citation within the database, and one to link directly to the article's PDF.
  • The two options are marked in the image below.

Copying the PURL to the Article's Citation within the Database

  • The first option, indicates the article's DOI, or Digital Object Identifer. This will provide a permanent link to the article's citation information, including the abstract and references, within the database.
  • To copy this link, move your mouse over it
  • Right-click
  • Select Copy Link Address (In Firefox, this option is called Copy Link Location and in Internet Explorer, it is called Copy Shortcut)
     

Copying the PURL for the Article's PDF Full-Text

  • The second option, screenshot of PDF icon from ACM Digital Library, indicates the full text of the article.
  • To copy this link, move your mouse over it
  • Right-click
  • Select Copy Link Address (In Firefox, this option is called Copy Link Location and in Internet Explorer, it is called Copy Shortcut)
