The Commission on Presidential Debates (CPD) is a nonprofit corporation which sponsors and produces debates for the United States presidential and vice presidential candidates. It conducts research and provides educational activities relating to the debates. The CPD sponsored all the presidential debates in 1988, 1992, 1996, 2000, 2004 and 2008. Debate transcripts and videos are provided on this website.

The project is the result of a collaboration between John T. Woolley and Gerhard Peters at the University of California, Santa Barbara. Our archives contain 101,543 documents related to the study of the Presidency. “Presidential Debates” covers 1960 through 2012 and provides the transcript of each debate.

Provides videos of Presidential campaign commercials from 1952 through 2008.

The Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History is a non-profit public charity devoted to the improvement of history education. The “Elections” page offers research concerning the Nixon-Kennedy television debate in 1960, the Presidential election of 1800, and a history of voting right.

Offers an interactive Electoral College map for 2020 and a history of U.S. Presidential elections. The election of a U.S President requires winning the popular vote in enough states to obtain 270 electoral votes, or a majority of the 538 available.

The Presidential Library system is composed of thirteen Presidential Libraries. They are archives and museums which hold the documents a President and his administration. The libraries offer transcripts and podcasts and official papers of each President.
