Finding Journal Articles
- Academic Search Complete This link opens in a new windowOur best general research database, this online resource provides indexing and abstracting for over 8,000 journals of which 3,600 are peer-reviewed publications, with full-text access for nearly 4,700 of the titles. Indexing and abstracting coverage is generally from the mid-1980's and full-text coverage for many titles dates back to 1990. You may limit search results to full-text and peer-reviewed articles. Includes many articles dealing with topics related to China, Japan, Korea, and India.
- Academic OneFile This link opens in a new windowProvides indexing and abstracting of more than 8,000 journals and magazines in the humanities (including the visual arts), social sciences, and science and technology. You may limit search results to full-text or peer-reviewed articles or articles with images. Full-text is provided for about two-thirds of the publications. Like Academic Search Complete, this database has many articles dealing with topics related to China, Japan, Korea, and India.
- JSTORJSTOR offers the searchable "archives of over one thousand leading academic journals across the humanities, social sciences, and sciences, as well as select monographs and other materials valuable for academic work." Includes more than 50 Asian Studies journals.
- Project MuseIncludes 7 full-text Asian Studies journals.
- Cambridge Journals OnlineIncludes 9 full-text Asian Studies journals published by Cambridge University Press.
- Oxford Journals OnlineProvides online access to more than 150 scholarly journals from the Oxford University Press, many with full-text back to 1998. Includes journals such as: Chinese Journal of International Law, The Chinese Journal of International Politics,International Relations of the Asia-Pacific, and The Journal of Hindu Studies.
- MLA International Bibliography This link opens in a new windowMLA International Bibliography offers a detailed bibliography of journal articles, books and dissertations. Produced by the Modern Language Association, the electronic version of the bibliography dates back to the 1920's and contains over 2.3 million citations from more than 4,400 journals & series and 1,000 book publishers. The indexed materials coverage is international and includes almost 60 titles from J-STOR’s language and literature collection as well as links to full text.
