Asian Studies Resource Guide: Books on Contemporary Japan

100 Books for Understanding Contemporary Japan

The Nippon Foundation's "Read Japan" program sponsored an annual Book Donation Project that donated 100 books to libraries outside of Japan. The purpose of the book collection wass "to help non-Japanese readers better understand contemporary Japan." Most but not all of these books were published recently. In 2011. the Mildred F. Sawyer Library was selected to receive books from the “100 Books for Understanding Contemporary Japan” catalog.

Some of these books are already held by the Sawyer Library. Look for a specific book title in the Suffolk University's Library Catalog.
