You will find the majority of journal, magazine, and newspaper articles in the Library's research databases. (Usage restricted to the Suffolk University community.)

- Academic Search Complete This link opens in a new windowThis is a large, scholarly, multidisciplinary full-text database, with more than 8,500 full-text periodicals. Try searching by the name of the playwright and title of the work, e.g. sondheim and night music.
- JSTOR This link opens in a new windowThis multidisciplinary database has the complete backfiles of over 400 core scholarly journals that have been digitized, starting with the very first issues, many of which date from the 1800s. Academic disciplines covered by JSTOR include the performing arts, music, language and literature, and more.
- MLA International Bibliography This link opens in a new windowSelf-described as "a subject index for books and articles published on modern languages, literatures, folklore, and linguistics," this databases covers literature from all over the world and the "dramatic arts (film, radio, television, theater)." Provides some links to full-text.
- Project MUSE This link opens in a new windowJohns Hopkins Universtiy Press publishes this database containing the full-text of over 400 scholarly journals which cover the fields of literature and criticism, the visual and performing arts, and cultural studies as well as many other fields of study.
- Boston Globe 1980-present This link opens in a new window1977 to 1979 available in microfilm. Current daily print newspaper issues also available in the Sawyer Library.
- New York Times 1851-2018 This link opens in a new windowThis archive offers full page and article images with searchable full text back to the first issue. The collection includes digital reproductions providing access to every page from every available issue. There is a three year time lag of availability for current issues (for example, the 2001 issues were made available in 2004)
