Open Educational Resources (OER) Defined

Open Educational Resources are educational materials freely available for public use.  In many cases, licenses permit improving, sharing, and/or redistributing this material. Educational Resources generally include learning content, such as courses, course materials, resource collections, and journals.

The Goal of Using OER

The goal of engaging with OER is to provide access to quality educational resources for everyone regardless of income or location.  An OER also creates opportunities to share new methods of teaching and learning in a collaborative environment.
