The Microform Room

The Periodicals Department holds more than 700 titles on microfilm and 150 titles on microfiche (collectively known as microforms). If you need to find an article that is stored on microfilm, microfiche, or microtext, you will probably have some questions about how to find and use these resources.

The Microform Room

In this guide you will find instructions on how to find specific pieces of microfiche and reels of microfilm, how to scan the film or fiche to find articles, and how to print or save the articles. The scanning instructions are also available on the computers adjacent to the microform scanners, and downloadable PDFs of these instructions are available below.

For help finding or using anything in the microform collection you can visit, or call the Periodicals Office. The office is open from 8:30am to 4:30pm Monday through Friday and is located on the third floor across from the Microform Room. You can also call or leave a message at (617) 573-8414. For in-library help after office hours, you can ask anyone at the Reference Desk for help with the microforms.
