Printing and Equipment

Due to Covid-19 restrictions the Library will not be able to provide access to all the items and equipment usually loaned out. The list below describes the current status of our equipment:

  • Laptops: Laptop computers will be available on a first-come, first-served basis for in-library use. They cannot leave the library. Laptops will be cleaned between uses.
  • Scanning: The photocopiers located on the 3rd and 4th floors are available for scanning to a personal USB Drive. Patrons can also use their phones to scan items. Here are a few applications recommended by our IT Department:
  • Photocopying: The photocopiers located on the 3rd and 4th floors are available for photocopying. To print copies, users must have a RAM card. Otherwise, they can use the copier to scan to a personal USB drive.
  • PrintingPrinting is available at the desktop computers on the main floor of the Sawyer Library.  Additional printers are available in the computer labs in the Sawyer Building (5th Fl.) and Sargent Hall (6th Fl.).

Bloomberg Terminals

The University’s Bloomberg terminals will be available for remote use only by current Suffolk University students and faculty.

Requesting a Login

Students and faculty that do not have an existing Bloomberg Terminal login, can request a Bloomberg username (must use Suffolk email) and password at our BMC web portal: https://portal.bloombergforeducation.com/

Logging In to a Terminal Remotely

Once a student or professor has a Bloomberg login (different from a BMC login), users may login to Bloomberg remotely in the following way:

Step 1: Navigate to https://bba.bloomberg.net/

Step 2: Enter personal Bloomberg username and password

NOTE: Bloomberg Terminal credentials should be used. BMC credentials are NOT valid here.

Step 3: Verify identity with a code sent to the enrolled email or mobile device. If this information is not already on file with Bloomberg, contact customer support: https://www.bloomberg.com/professional/support/support-numbers/ or at  +1 212 318 2000.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

  • First time login will require Citrix receiver install and acceptance of Citrix plugins.
  • Only one student can be logged into a Bloomberg Terminal remotely. If a Student A is logging in and the terminal is being used by Student B, Student A will see a warning that they are logging into a terminal that is currently being used by Student B. Student A will have the option to kick Student B off or try again later. If Student B was randomly kicked off the terminal, this means Student A kicked Student B off the terminal.
  • LOGOUT: Be sure to LOGOUT when you are done to give others the opportunity to do their work.
