RefWorks allows users to gather and organize citations. During the research process the citation to a source may be exported directly into RefWorks. Multiple projects can be separated by organizing the citations into folders. When the project is complete, RefWorks will compile the citations in a project folder into a 'works cited' or 'bibliography' according to MLA or APA, as desired.
Users have the option of sharing their folders for work on group projects.
RefWorks accounts must be set up while on-campus. Thereafter, RefWorks may be accessed from on- or off-campus.
Unlike other subscription services, RefWorks offers ongoing access for alumni.
