Primary, Secondary, and Tertiary Sources

 

In addition to providing background information, tertiary sources can be used to identify/verify facts, dates, names, locations, and other appropriate terminology.

Plug in the terminology into the various periodical databases to find scholarly, peer reviewed, secondary sources.

Knowledge of dates is often necessary when searching for contemporaneous newspaper articles.
