SBS 490 Israel, Spring 2020: Compile Lists of Companies

This guide supports students' research into public and private companies.

Identify Companies; and/or Generate Lists of Competitors

The tools below allow users to generate their own lists of companies based on criteria such as industry, location, and size.

For those who are looking for key competitors in a major industry, regardless of location, then most databases which provide company information also include a list of key competitors within the profile. To this end, in addition to the resources below, users should also do a 'companies search' in the Standard and Poor's S&PNetAdvantage.

To keep result lists from becoming too unwieldy, try running two separate searches: one for public companies, and one for private companies.

Keep in mind, information about individual public companies will likely be available in databases such as Mergent, Mergent Intellect (Hoovers), and Lexis. Information about private companies can be difficult to find.
