Want to see whether we have online access to a particular periodical?
Financial Times via ABI/INFORM Complete (ProQuest):
ProQuest's ABI/INFORM Complete (ABI) is a general business database containing an incredible amount of information. If you click on the ABI link for Finanical Times in the online catalog you will land on a page specific to Financial Times.
As you can see below, ABI offers options to browse older issues, just the latest issue, or to search all issues for a topic. The "Set up alert" tool will send you daily emails with links to each article headline. Each link is "proxyized", which allows you to access the material from off campus when you provide your login information at the authentication screen. After authenticating once, you should be able to go back and forth between that day's email and the ABI articles without further user identification challenges. The first step to get the email alerts is to click the "Set up alert" link near the top left of the page. See the following screenshot.
If you click that "Set up alert" link on the page for the Financial Times, the "Publication" will already be filled in. All you need to do is make a couple of decisions about what you want sent and for how long. Enter your email and click the orange button to Create alert. See screenshot below.
As you can see from the above screenshot, this alert can be set for a specific period of time of your choosing. Shortly before it expires, you will be offered the chance to renew it.
When you click the button, you will then see a screen advising that the alert has been created, but you will need to confirm it. You will immediately receive an email and you must click the "Yes, I want to receive this alert" link (as illustrated below).
You will then see a screen indicating that you are scheduled for your email alert.
You should receive your first email of alert links within about 24 hours and you'll receive these--usually two or three emails a day with links to all articles in page number order--for as long as you've indicated. The alert emails will look like the image below.
THIS SERVICE WILL ALSO WORK ON ANY SMARTPHONE OR TABLET OR OTHER WEB-ENABLED DEVICE!
