EAP 102 - Professor Scala: Filtering in One Search

This guide supports INTO Suffolk students' work with the Brand Analysis Annotated Bibliography Assignment.

Filtering in OneSearch

Filtering functions available on the left side of the page can help narrow down the articles even further.

1. Date filtering allows you to sort out any items older than a year, greatly reducing the number of articles to review.

2. Source type filtering allows you to focus just on news articles, or only magazine articles, depending on the filter you apply. Trade publications collect news intended for a professional in a business field, including market information or competitor news. Academic journal articles tend to connect research and make broader statements from there, so brand analysis articles may also pop up in that category.

3. After applying the "Date" and "Source Types" filters, you can easily review the results.

4. Un-select the current check-box and choose a different "Source Types" filter to see articles from another of the source types.
