"Political Handbook of the World"
The CQ Press Political Handbook of the World is one of the titles available through the CQ Press Political Reference Suite. It provides authoritative political information on the world's countries. The Handbook covers political history and regional / global policy issues specific to each country, and it describes 120 intergovernmental organizations, such as OPEC, NATO, the WTO, and the agencies of the United Nations.

Mergent Online is primarily used to find financial information about publicly traded companies. However Mergent also has economic profiles for most countries [see the drop down box on the lower left of the opening screen]:
