Juan Felipe Herrera

Mexican American poet, author, and activist who became the first Latino Poet Laureate of the United States (2015–17). Known for works like CrashBoomLove, a novel written in verse, and poems such as Half-Mexican and Five Directions to My House.

Caesar Chavez

Civil rights, Latino and farm labor leader. He was most known for his fight to promote equality, justice and dignity for all Americans.

Dolores Huerta

American labor leader and civil rights activist who, alongside Cesar Chavez, is a co-founder of the United Farm Workers (UFW). Huerta is the originator of the famous phrase “Sí, se puede," the motto of the United Farmers of America.

Tomás Rivera

Renowned Chicano author, poet, and educator. He was the first Mexican American chancellor of the University of California, Riverside and the first person of color chancellor in the entire University of California education system.

Roberto Clemente

Famous Puerto Rican right-fielder for the Pittsburg Pirates. Clemente became the first Latin American and Caribbean to win a World Series as a starting player in 1960.
