- The ARTFL EncyclopédieOriginally published under the direction of Diderot and d'Alembert between 1751 and 1772, the Encyclopédie ou Dictionnaire raisonné des sciences, des arts et des métiers, par une Société de Gens de lettres, contains 17 volumes of text and 11 volumes of plates. This online version of the Encyclopédie is from the ARTFL Project website (a joint project of the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS) and the University of Chicago).
