Library Introduction & Instruction: Citing Sources

Citing Sources

Why cite sources?

When information is quoted or summarized from another person's work, that information must documented.  Citations to outside sources must be provided in the research paper, in order to give credit to authors for their ideas and to provide the reader with a means of locating the sources.
