Faculty Tools: Funding Opportunities

Online Resources for Citation and Journal Analysis and for Identifying Publishing Opportunities and Funding

Community of Science (COS)

COS Pivot
COS Pivot is the leading global resource for hard-to-find information critical to scientific research and other projects across all disciplines. They aim to aggregate valuable information so academic researchers have more time and money for their actual research.  One key module, COS Funding Opportunities, allows scholars to search the world's most comprehensive funding resource, with thousands of grants and other funding sources worth over $33 billion.

The University's Office of Research and Sponsored Programs is providing faculty with access to this "database" of up-to-date database announcements for grants, fellowships, and awards in all disciplines including the physical sciences, social sciences, life sciences, health and medicine, arts and humanities. Click the blue Advanced Search link to do more precise searching. The file is currently comprised of thousands of records worth over $33 billion. COS Pivot can be accessed via any computer with a Suffolk University IP address.  But you will want to set up a personal account while on campus.  Once a user account has been created, the database can be accessed by logging in from any computer connected to the internet.  Anyone with questions or wanting to schedule a training session can contact Jennifer Giglio in the Suffolk Office of Research and Sponsored Programs at or 617.725.4145.
