SBS 101 Business Foundations: Generating a Comparative Report in the Demographics tab

Students learn how to locate information relevant to analyzing business opportunities in a specific industry and location, including macro industry reports, micro market data, niche news articles and authoritative sources.

Generating a Comparative Report in the Demographics tab

1. Select the "Demographics" tab.

2. DemographicsNow has a few types of reports; Summary and Comparison are likely the most frequently used ones. This example will show a Comparison report, which separates the data of the 2 geographies I selected and compares them in a table.

Bonus tip: A Summary report is best used to present data on one geography. It will also combine multiple geographies' data.

3. DemographicsNow has 70+ report names to choose from. This drop-down menu contains US Census data, market research data, and a wide variety of other population characteristics to review and evaluate for use in your projects. I've selected the "Simmons Lifestyle Demogs Statements Comparison" report.

4. Click "Run Report" to display the data.

Below is a sample of the report from this search. This report examines potential customers' attitudes toward paying more for environmentally friendly products, along with additional categories of shopping behaviors and attitudes data.
